High heels are one of the focus points when fashion is being discussed. High heels, stilettos, or pumps highlight your legs and make fat women seem thin and short women look tall. It also helps a woman with her posture while drawing attention to her. However, it takes work to manage high heels.

Though women love wearing high heels, they can be very painful and challenging to wear at times. Despite this, women love to flaunt their high heels and wear them on special occasions to look more attractive.

So, if you love wearing high heels, but want to get rid of the pain and feel comfortable, then follow the tips mentioned below.

When wearing high heels, posture matters since there is even an art behind walking in one. Posture is an essential factor in making walking in heels feel comfortable. You walk in heels isn’t the same way you would walk in flats. This is because, when you walk in heels, you must pay attention to other parts of your body.

First, acknowledge that you aren’t on a casual stroll in your sneakers. While walking in heels, engage your core and walk heel to toe. Your posture should add flow to your stride — ensure you keep your spine straight.

If you can’t, imagine having a string attached to your head that keeps pulling you toward the sky. While walking, you can use your hips to lift and also shift your legs to the center.

    Buy leather heels

When shopping, people spend more on cute heels without paying attention to how comfortable they would feel wearing the product. However, while going shopping, there are several things that you should keep in mind.

Leather is more flexible. So when shopping, you should go for leather heels. Also, buy heels with buckles and steady. Such heels give more support than heels with a slip-on. Most times, uniform heels like a platform are better than a stiletto. You can even choose wedges.

    Break in the shoes

Breaking your high heels before wearing them for the first time is vital. It will make your heel more flexible and allow it to conform to your feet’s shape. After getting a new shoe, wear them inside your house before going outside.

This will let you get used to it and make it less slippery. While breaking it in, you should practice walking in the different forms, like down different types of floors and up and down a stair.

    Use a moleskin

Moleskin is a heavy but thin cotton with an adhesive on its back. You can cut and mold it to fit specific areas on your foot, like the back of the heels and around your toes.

However, these areas are prone to shoe friction. Additionally, moleskin is usually more durable than regular adhesive bandages. This ensures it stays on for a few hours after using it on your feet.

    Make them comfortable with inserts

Sometimes after breaking in your heels, you will find some areas of discomfort. There’s no need to throw your shoes aside if you still encounter pain. You can still use them by adding padded inserts.

Gel or silicone inserts can make your heels comfortable. They can make your feet steady in your shoes by ensuring they don’t slide forward much. This helps resolve pain by redistributing the weight on your heels instead of your feet.

    Use anti-blister sticks

One of the pains of wearing heels is encountering blisters. Blisters occur due to friction, and you can use a product to ensure blisters don’t develop. In addition, they can help prevent blisters, chafing, rubbing, and skin pressure.

Apart from reducing pain, it also provides instant relief. It is usually like an extra layer of skin you can’t see, thus perfect to wear.

Additionally, you can be confident that the shoes will not be ruined by gel. Anti-blister sticks are made with non-greasy formulas that don’t stain shoes while remaining invincible when you put them on.

    Final words

Undoubtedly, having a good pair of shoes can make you look more confident, alluring, and beautiful. High heels can also improve your height while making your legs look slimmer. However, despite the benefits of high heels, they can also cause pain in your feet and sometimes make you feel uncomfortable.

If you wear your high heels for a long time, walk in them or spend a night out dancing in them, you might have experienced the side effects of wearing high heels. They include general pain, swelling, numbness, and blisters. However, following the tips mentioned above can make your heels pain-free and more comfortable.
